New Dog Requirements:
All dogs must come for a FREE Required First Visit/Orientation before they board at the Ranch. This visit is a no charge day of dog boarding so we can evaluate your dog’s temperament here at the Ranch and complete your dog’s history file including vaccination records and other enrollment documents.
Disqualifying behaviors for free play boarding include fence jumping, aggression toward handlers or other dogs. We found 95% of dogs do well in our safe, serene, free-play, country setting. The Doggie Dude Ranch reserves the right to request paid additional daycare visits to help your dog adjust before scheduling a dog boarding vacation at the Ranch.
If you do not make a reservation at the time of your dog’s visit, your file remains active for 30 days, before requiring updated forms and veterinarian records.
We require a veterinarian certificate indicating proof of immunizations for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. We recommend the Bordetella vaccination be administered every six months, within the year is required. If the Bordetella immunization is expired or new – your dog is required to wait seven days before attending the Ranch. All other vaccinations that are either new or readministered require a 24 hour waiting period administration.
The Ranch only accepts vaccinations given by a veterinarian and does not acknowledge owner administered shots. Rabies shots are required for dogs over four months – either a one-year or three-year immunization. Puppies who are too young to receive rabies vaccination will be allowed with their puppy shots (a series of injections at eight weeks, 12 weeks, and 16 weeks to protect against canine diseases including distemper and Parvo).
Temperament Testing for All Dogs:
We rely on owner discretion if the dog is a protective breed listed below. All dogs are temperament tested on their required First Visit/Orientation Day to make sure they are friendly with handlers and other dogs in our ranch environment.
Some breeds are generally not suitable for free play with other dogs, but sometimes with proper socialization and exposure to other dogs, they will fit in with our free play temperament standards. These breeds include Staffordshire, Pit Bull Terriers, Doberman Pinschers, German Shepherds, Siberian Huskies, Malamutes, Akitas and other protective breeds.
If you would trust your dog unsupervised in a yard with 7 or 8 other dogs not familiar to him/her, then there is a chance they may be suitable. We are willing to temperament test all breeds with owner discretion. The Staff will scrutinize the more protective dog breeds, before allowing them to attend Doggie Dude Ranch.
Spayed or Neutered Dogs are Welcome:
Doggie Dude Ranch boarding is for friendly spay or neutered dogs only. For the well-being of your dogs, please spay or neuter. Dogs are much happier in this state as they are not in breeding competition.
Dogs UNDER ONE YEAR may board intact (not neutered).
If you have a purebred dog that you are planning to breed, we will CHECK CAREFULLY for un-tolerated behavior on the FIRST VISIT. However, be aware that we may have to limit these dogs from high traffic times with larger groups of dogs.
If the Doggie Dude Ranch chooses to accept NON-NEUTERED DOG from breeders, WE DO NOT take any liability for your dog. FREE PLAY BOARDING IS BEST WHEN ALL DOGS ARE NEUTERED OR SPAYED (See Limited Liability Boarding Agreement.) For more info on spaying contact your vet or Spay Arkansas WE SAY SPAY! Spaying or neutering is best for your dog’s health. Consult your veterinarian if you have any questions.
If your dog is approved by special permission to board without being neutered there are no discounts and extra fees may apply.
Additional Charges for Late or No-Shows:
Our Staff works hard to maintain a schedule conducive to all the dogs attending the Ranch. Therefore, we have required time windows for drop off and pick up when scheduling your dogs’ arrival or pickup. You will incur additional fees if you are a no-show or arrive before or after the scheduled windows.
Our Daily Schedule for Pick-up or Drop-off are:

Afternoons at 4:00 -6:00 pm.
Pick-up and drop off times BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, seven days a week, and we prefer morning drop off, so your dog gets more playtime at the Ranch with the staff.
Changes to Your Reservation with Early Pick-up or Cancellations:
Early pick up is acceptable. However, we are not able to change your invoice if we have less than 48 hours’ notice. No invoice changes will occur on weekends due to early pick-up.
Deposits are refundable ONLY if you notify us in writing ten or more days before the first day of your scheduled arrival. There are no refunds if you inform us nine days or less before your reservation date. All reservations require a 50% deposit to confirm your dog’s stay at the Ranch.
